My four year old grandson Elijah loves eating at McDonald’s. This is one of my favorite pictures of him.
There is nothing better than a friend, unless it is a friend with chocolate.
Oatmeal Cookies
Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies
- 3/4 cup butter (1.5 sticks)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups oats, uncooked
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup raisins (I use dried cranberries.)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water, and vanilla until creamy. Add combined remaining ingredients, and mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes. For added variety, add chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or coconut. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
